Airport Roundtable welcomes new chairOct. 2009—The King County International Airport Roundtable elected Edwin E. Hanson as its new chair at its Oct. 19 meeting. Peter Anderson will continue to serve as vice chair. Ed has been a member of the Roundtable since 2001, representing the community of West Seattle. He was elected to the committee after serving on the KBFI Noise Abatement Committee from 1996 to 1999. Ed was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Tech. He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, many of them as a Naval aviator. After retiring from the Navy, he joined The Boeing Company’s Defense and Space Division, from which he retired in 1995. He and his wife Dorothy are avid lighthouse aficionados, and have visited and photographed more than 300 of the 605 lighthouses still operating in the U.S. Ed also has interests in sports, gardening, and watercolor painting. He replaces long-time Roundtable Chair James Combs. The airport staff extends heartfelt gratitude to Jim for his lengthy, dedicated service to KBFI. Related links
