ORCA is here!
Seven regional transportation agencies are introducing a new transportation pass program called ORCA-One Regional Card for All. ORCA programs will eventually replace the PugetPass, FlexPass, Vanpool Pass, and Commuter Bonus Vouchers. ORCA uses smart card technology to automatically account for different fares and transfers on Community Transit, Everett Transit, King County Metro Transit, Kitsap Transit, Pierce Transit, Sound Transit and Washington State Ferries
Most pass products your company currently orders for its employees will continue to be available until the transition to ORCA is complete. ORCA will include business products similar to PugetPass and FlexPass including an electronic voucher option. Because ORCA cards can be reloaded or blocked, this new webbased system will give your company new options for your commuter program. Metro business accounts will make the transition to ORCA over a period of a few months after ORCA becomes available. FlexPass customers will convert to ORCA upon their annual renewal date, beginning in mid-2009. Metro ticket books will continue to be available separately from the ORCA program.
