Ride the bus

What employers can do to encourage commuting by bus:

• Help employees plan bus routes by using the Trip Planner
• Offer employees some flexibility in start and quit times
• Allow employees to use pre-tax income to purchase bus passes
• Provide full or partial subsidy for cost of monthly or annual bus pass
• Provide a guaranteed ride home in case of emergency
• Where there is a charge for parking, allow bus commuters to drive and park for free one or two days each month for personal appointments
• Provide on-site amenities such as lunch facilities and postal services
