YouthBuild

YouthBuild2YouthBuild assists young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 who have dropped out of high school complete their high school education or GED. At the same time, youth in the program explore construction careers, build work habits, attitudes and experience, and transition into apprenticeships, post-secondary education and/or jobs.

The program emphasizes exploration of emerging green jobs and technologies that reduce energy consumption and protect the environment.

Services

Education and job training are integrated into all aspects of the YouthBuild experience. A YouthBuild student learns about leadership, community service, and improving themselves, their community, and their program.

During the year, YouthBuilders construct a house for a family in need with Habitat for Humanity,  and explore apprenticeships at South Seattle Community College’s Georgetown Campus.

Eligibility

Low-income King County young adults ages 16 to 24 who have dropped out of high school are eligible.
