King County Jobs Initiative - Services for Employers

Our services for employers focus on helping them find skilled workers. We do this free-of-charge by providing:

  • Applicant assessment and screening
  • Qualified and skilled applicants with job readiness training
  • Recruitment of a diverse pool of applicants
  • Regular contact with clients for the first year of employment to address job retention issues
  • Support services to address barriers clients may encounter such as childcare, transportation, and other emergency needs that may arise.

Employment Sector Focus

We assist employers to find trained and job-ready workers in the following employment sectors:

  • Airport related jobs
  • Certified nursing/hospital assistant
  • Construction
  • Electronic assembly
  • Hazardous materials technician
  • Manufacturing
  • Office occupations
  • Short-haul truck driving
  • Warehouse

Success Rate

KCJI has a remarkable job retention rate of 89 percent. This means that 89 percent of participants placed in jobs have remained in their positions one year from their date of job placement.

Tax Credit Assistance

Since we serve low-income participants, employers may also qualify for the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), which provides a tax credit for hiring a low-income individual.

Your Input is Valued

We seek employer input as we continue to look at our new strategic initiatives. This will ensure that we provide relevant vocational skills training for KCJI job seekers to assist with your immediate and long-term needs.
