King County Jobs Initiative - Program Accomplishments Over Past Ten Years

King County Jobs Initiative is proud of our success helping people achieve self-sufficiency.  Established by King County Executive Ron Sims in 1998, the program celebrates these achievements at the end of its first decade: 
  • 1,972 low-income residents served
  • 1,351 clients placed in full-time jobs in targeted sectors
  • 1,175 still working or at one-year retention in jobs
  • $11.71 average wage of job placements
  • Eighty-seven percent overall one-year job retention rate
  • KCJI is ranked by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as one of the top Brownfields employment and training programs in the nation
  • Seventy percent overall job placement rate.
