Adult Services 1) Who is eligible to use the services of WorkSource Renton? Anyone can use the general services of WorkSource Renton or any of the other six WorkSource sites in Seattle-King County. 2) What kind of help can I get from WorkSource Renton with my search for a job? WorkSource Renton staff will help you assess where you are in your job search and help you develop effective approaches to looking for a job. There are both individual consultations and group classes available to look at your resume, cover letter, and overall strategies. They also have job listings for referral. Work Training programs are funded to provide services to people who have particular barriers to employment. The King County Jobs Initiative helps people who are currently or were previously involved in the criminal justice system with job training, job placement, and other assistance. The goal of this program is to help these persons be able to support themselves and stay out of future legal problems. The training provided by this program is focused on jobs that pay a living-wage, such as in environmental clean-up. This is a federally funded program and is targeted to help people who have been laid off due to company layoffs and/or the downsizing of your company. The Dislocated Worker Program helps people who want to get right back to work do so. It also helps those who need to change careers due to a lack of demand in their field make this transition through career counseling and exploration. Some funds to help with further education and training are available in partnership with community and technical colleges. We help businesses find qualified employees through the WorkSource system. This involves working closely with employers to assure a good match. For instance, we screen, match and refer potential employees. We also host on-site recruiting events for companies who have multiple openings. No. This program does not focus on just finding jobs for young people, generally aid not a summer work program. It is a year-round program that combines education and career exploration. The program is federally funded and has specific eligibility requirements. It is a small program that works with young people ages 16 to 18 who are at-risk of dropping out in specific schools.
