Information about our Affordable Housing Development Programs

The Housing and Community Development Program (HCD) has a number of programs that work towards the goal of creating safe, decent affordable housing in King County. We have a finance program that provides competitive funding for housing developers to create new units of affordable housing. We have an in-house housing development professional who can provide technical assistance to development entities that need such assistance. We have affordable housing planners who work on a number of affordable housing initiatives, including planning for housing to meet the needs of persons with special needs, and planning for the inclusion of affordable housing in the private, for-profit sector.
