This section contains information about the King County Urban Consortium ("the Consortium")
A large portion of the federal funds administered by the Housing and Community Development Program (HCD) are administered on behalf of King County and most of the cities in King County outside the City of Seattle. The City of Seattle receives its own federal funds separately.
King County and the cities in King County jointly cooperate in an urban county consortium. For a list of all the city partners in the Consortium, click here.
The King County HCD program is the official applicant to the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for housing and community development funds and ultimately assumes all the obligations required for receiving such funds. The Consortium participants agree to cooperate in undertaking activities which further the broad goals of the federal programs. In order to carry out these activities, King County HCD and the Consortium have agreed to a decision-making structure.
King County Consortium Structure The Consortium has established committees to assist in making decisions concerning program guidelines and funds
