BusinessThe Community Services Division (CSD) is responsible for providing a variety of services to people and communities in need: housing and community development improvements, employment training and education, and a variety of services for veterans, homeless individuals and families, and other vulnerable populations. CSD provides funding for nonprofit agencies, housing developers, and cities to provide many of these services via contracts. CSD provides other services directly to individuals. Funding opportunities for community-based service providers, housing agencies, cities, and other organizationsCSD issues periodic Request for Proposals (RFPs) to solicit proposals to provide housing and community development improvements, homeless housing services, and services in areas such as domestic violence, senior services, youth services, etc. Find out more about current RFPs. Agencies need to be aware that they will need to enter into a contract with King County, and that the contract will establish performance expectations. Find out more about the contracting process. Section 8 certificates or other low-income housing opportunitiesIndividuals seeking these should contact one of the following: the King County Housing Authority, the Seattle Housing Authority, the Renton Housing Authority, or the Community Information Line. King County does not own or manage any housing units directly. Program EvaluationPerformance measurement and evaluation is a key component of CSD’s business practices. We seek to manage our resources wisely, with an eye to results. Our contracts are awarded on a competitive basis, and establish clear performance expectations. Additionally, we measure and evaluate our performance. This information is made available in periodic “Dashboard Reports” that assess our programs’ accomplishments. Learn more about the Dashboards.
