Groundwater Management in King County, Washington State

Groundwater: The Flow From Below
Educational Video

Two versions of this video, intended to motivate the public to protect and preserve their groundwater resources, are available.

A 20-minute video describes where groundwater comes from, how it can be contaminated, and how we can protect it. Produced in a humorous upbeat manner, it is appropriate for audiences from third grade to adult. An eight-minute, edited version, is intended for use at fair booths, conferences, for public officials and others interested in the basics of groundwater protection.

The video presents the following groundwater issues: agriculture, farming and forestry, growth and development, underground storage tanks, septic systems, water conservation, sea water intrusion, sand and gravel mining, landfills, hazardous materials management, and groundwater recharge.

This video is a great resource for schools and communities who obtain their drinking water from our groundwater supply. The video is available for purchase ($8.43 shipped, $5.44 if picked up) or may be borrowed with a deposit and shipping fee.
