Vashon Island basin steward available

For the next six Tuesday mornings, Vashon Island Basin Steward Ray Heller will be on site at the Courthouse Square to answer residents’ specific questions about planning and stewardship on their property.

When: Tuesdays, May 10 – June 14
9 a.m. to Noon

Would you like to learn more about being a better steward of your land? Do you have questions about how critical areas could affect your property or future projects? Do you know how regulatory flexibility allowed through the Critical Areas Ordinance can help meet your property management goals? Are you interested in property tax reductions for natural areas on your property?

Vashon Island Basin Steward Ray Heller of the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks (DNRP) can provide answers to these questions and guidance to landowners on the Rural Stewardship Planning element of the Critical Areas Ordinance.

For six weeks Mr. Heller will be joining Greg Wessel of the Department of Development and Environmental Services (DDES) who is regularly available from 8 a.m. to Noon every Tuesday at the Courthouse Square to answer questions about permitting and regulations.
