Budget Committee begins review of SODO Arena Plan

Budget Chair Joe McDermott will hold the first Council hearing on the agreement that will govern the financing of a proposed arena in Seattle’s SODO district Tuesday, May 29.

The agreement was sent to the King County Council and the Seattle City Council. Both Councils have to adopt the memorandum of understanding for the arena plan to proceed.

Budget Chair McDermott said at the press conference announcing the agreement that the Budget and Fiscal Managment Committee and the Council are prepared to examine the agreements keeping in mind both the fiscal and community impacts of the proposal.
