Adopt a park or trail

About the program

Our Adopt-a-Park or Trail program is a great way for neighbors, community groups and businesses to join together to contribute to their local community. Informal groups are welcome to participate, and frequently we see "Friends of" groups evolve out of the initial adopt-a-park or trail experience.

We ask for a minimum commitment of three or four volunteer work party events per year. Examples of work party activities include brush clean-up, litter pick-up, tree planting, flower-bed weeding and/or planting, invasive weed removal, trail maintenance, monitoring restoration efforts, and many other potential projects.

How to sign up

To sign up, please contact the Volunteer Program Manager (see Contact us on this page) and identify the park or trail your group would like to adopt. Once the “adoption” is approved, you're ready to go! Our Volunteer Manager will assist you with scheduling, supplies, and other support that will make sure your volunteer efforts are a success!
