Market Vitals

Market Vitals

Initiated at a market manager workshop in Fall 2010, the “Market Vitals” Pilot Project is an initiative to select and define 12 “vital statistics” for farmers markets to collect and report at the end of the season. Like our heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight, the “vitals” provide an easy to measure proxy of overall well-being.

“Market Vitals” can be used to promote individual markets and inform local, county and statewide trends. We also seek to reducing the redundancy and streamlining data collection. Participation in the pilot project is voluntary and open to all farmers markets. See a description of the 12 categories that make up the “Market Vitals”.
