Dec. 28, 2010 92 Year-Old Tied Up, Robbed During Home Invasion; His Truck Stolen Too
A 92 year-old Shoreline resident was tied up and robbed yesterday (December 27th) by two men who said their car was broken down and they needed to use his phone.
They also took the man’s truck and it has not been located.
The incident began about 11:00 AM when the man answered a knock at his door. He lives alone and has lived in his north Shoreline residence for the last 35 years.
Two white men in their 20’s asked to use the phone. He let them into the house, then sat down in a kitchen chair while one suspect went to use the bathroom.
When the man came out the two suspects grabbed the victim’s arms and held them while they used masking tape to tape him to the chair.
The suspects spent over an hour in the house while they looked for valuables, eventually taking over $400 in cash from the man. Both men were 5’7” to 5’8”, about 165 lbs.
Ø The men stole the victim’s gold, 2000 Ford R-10 pick-up truck. The license number is Washington B34861L. The truck has a silver bulldog on the hood.
After the two suspects left it took two hours for the victim to free himself by chewing through the masking tape. Other than bruises, he was not injured.
If anyone sees the stolen truck or has information about this crime they are asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 296-3311 (24 hours) or 9-1-1.
