March 26, 2009 Shoreline Man Shot OvernightShoreline Man Shot Overnight
A 29 year-old Shoreline man was shot in the leg last night while visiting a friend at a Shoreline apartment complex. Two men were arrested shortly thereafter in Seattle after a car chase.
The incident occurred about 1:00 AM in the parking lot of the Colonial Gardens, 14817 – 15th Ave NE. The victim was sitting in a car talking with a woman when he was confronted by a man with a handgun. The victim ran off as several shots were fired. One struck him in the leg.
The suspect fled in a vehicle with another man, chasing a car driven by the victim’s female friend. Her car was involved in a crash at NE 155th and 8th NE. She was apparently intimidated into the suspect’s car and that car fled the scene.
Next Seattle Police got into a chase with the suspects. Police got the vehicle stopped at NE 143rd and Lake City Way. Shoreline Police went to that location and two people were arrested, including the 20 year-old shooter, although he had run from the scene on foot and a SPD K-9 had to track him down.
The gunshot victim was taken to Northwest Hospital. His wound is not life-threatening.
Both suspects were booked into the King County Jail on various charges. The shooter also had a felony arrest warrant from DOC relating to a robbery charge. Both men are under Active Supervision with the Dept. of Corrections.
