March 25, 2009 Girl Critically Injured in Collision
A 16 year-old girl was critically injured yesterday (March 24th) when the car she was driving collided with a school bus. There were no students on the bus and the driver was not injured.
The accident happened just before 4:00 PM in the 4500 block of Sahalee Way NE in unincorporated King County. The Redmond girl, driving a 1994 Toyota Camry, was southbound on Sahalee Way. For some reason her car drifted over the center line and struck the left front corner of the northbound school bus, driven by a 46 year-old Lake Stevens woman. The bus was from the Lake Washington School District.
The girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. The investigation is continuing.
