A head-on accident on the Avondale Road near Redmond in unincorporated King County injured three people, one critically.
The incident occurred yesterday, March 18th about 9:15 AM.
A 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor was northbound on the Avondale in the 15100 block driven by a 29 year-old Redmond man. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver tried to pass a second car in a No Passing area. The right side mirror on the Mitsubishi clipped the rear end of the car being passed, and the Mitsubishi then collided head-on with a third, southbound car, a 1997 Ford Explorer.
The Explorer was driven by a 34 year-old Woodinville man. His 3 year-old son was in the back seat in car seat.
The driver of the Mitsubishi and the two people in the Explorer were taken to Harborview Medical Center. (No one else was in either car.) The 3 year-old was treated and released. His father, the driver of the Explorer, remains at HMC in critical condition. The driver of the Mitsubishi is in serious condition.
The investigation is continuing.
