Feb. 10, 2009 Sheriff's Office Offers Free Boating Classes
The Sheriff's Office is offering free boating classes in February and March!
The classes will satisfy a 2005 state law that requires operators of boats over 15 hp to take a boater safety education course in order to operate a boat in Washington state. (Full information on who must have Boater Education Card—and when—is at http://www.parks.wa.gov/boating/boatsafefaq.asp.)
The eight hour course over two nights is a painless way to get the education needed, not only to satisfy state law, but to operate a boat safely on Washington waters.
The classes are taught by bonafide Sheriff's Office Marine Unit diver/deputies. That makes the course both fun and educational!
For reservations, call Sgt. Jim Knauss at (206) 205-0579. Or e-mail to james.knauss@kingcounty.gov
