April 6, 2009 Party Goes Bad--Shots Fired, Man Hit in FaceParty Goes Bad--Shots Fired, Man Hit in Face
A Saturday night party in the Skyway neighborhood of unincorporated King County left one man shot in the face. However his injuries, while serious, are not believed to be life-threatening.
About 1:00 AM Sunday morning (April 5th) the Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call about a fight occurring at a party and shots were fired. However the address provided by the caller was incorrect and deputies were delayed in finding the true location, which was in the 7800 block of S. 116th.
By the time they arrived, the party house was dark, shades were drawn, and no one was outside. However when deputies went inside they found 20 to 30 adults and juveniles in the house. Apparently many others left before deputies arrived.
While interviewing those still there, the Sheriff's Office got a call from Valley Medical Center. They were treating a 20 year-old gunshot victim. Deputies went to the hospital and learned there was a fight in front of the party-house, guns were pulled and shots were fired. The man was wounded in the melee and driven to VMC by his cousin and later transferred to Harborview.
The investigation is continuing and there have been no arrests.
