Man Faces Rape and Robbery Charges

Other Victims are Likely

A 29 year-old man from the Top Hat neighborhood of unincorporated King County will be charged this afternoon with two counts of rape and one count of robbery.

The man is accused of raping two women on separate occasions. However detectives believe there may be other victims who where attacked but did not report the crime.

Imranbhai G. Vahora is accused of raping an 18 year-old Tukwila woman on October 27, 2008. The suspect forced the woman into his car about 10:30 PM as she was walking in the 16800 block of International Blvd in the city of SeaTac.

He drove her a few blocks to a deserted parking lot where he took her cell phone and some money. He slapped the woman in the face several times and threatened to kill her before he raped her in the back seat of his car. The man dropped the victim off at a nearby gas station and as he drove off she memorized his license plate.

On November 22nd, Vahora is accused of picking up a 19 year-old Pierce County woman in Seattle and offering her a ride. However he took her to the same spot in SeaTac and raped her at knifepoint. The woman managed to escape from the car without her clothes but not before she was punched repeatedly by the suspect. She managed to flag down a passer-by and SeaTac Police were called.

Meanwhile Sheriff's Office detectives were working with the license plate and located the supposed suspect vehicle. However the car description and registered owner did not fully match the description given by the first victim.

Detectives began transposing the numbers on the plate, which eventually led them to Vahora and his car parked at his home in the 12600 block of Occidental Ave South. Both victims picked his picture out of a photo line-up.

Vahora was arrested at his residence on November 25th, where he lived with his wife and small child. He was booked into King County Jail.

Ø Based on additional information, detectives believe there is at least one more victim that has not reported the crime.

Vahora’s vehicle was a 4-door, black, 2007 Mazda 323. He has a characteristic large gap between his front teeth.

Anyone who was a victim of Vahora is asked to call the King County Sheriff's Office at (206) 296-3311 (24 hours).

Ø In the alternative, if a victim was sexually assaulted by Vahora they can call the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center at 1-888-99-VOICE.
