Aug. 13, 2007 Hiker Missing Near Snoqualmie PassThe Sheriff’s Office is coordinating a search and rescue operation today for a missing hiker in the Snoqualmie Pass area. The hiker has been missing since yesterday (Sunday, August 12th). Christopher Blackledge, age 25, was hiking with friends yesterday in the Gem Lake area. He became separated about 4:00 PM. The Sheriff's Office was notified about 10:30 PM, and began searching. The search was expanded early this morning. The hike was a day-hike, and Blackledge did not have equipment for overnight. His hometown is Tacoma. Currently there are approximately 25-30 SAR volunteers in the search. Additional searchers are in route. Guardian One is also assisting.
