One way to learn about police work and consider if it's the right choice for you is to read about the careers of current deputies. These deputies, who are among those interviewing candidates for hire, have agreed to share their stories about how they made the choice to become a KCSO deputy and the careers they have enjoyed.


Sergeant Ted Boe:  Experience includes work as a city police officer, patrol officer, trainer, and sergeant.

Detective Kelly Park:  Experience working as a patrol and city officer, trainer, SRO and detective.

Sergeant Dave Rainey: Experience includes work as a detective and training officer. Sgt. Rainey is a lateral-entry deputy.

Deputy Lon Shook: Experience includes work as a patrol officer, firefighter and trainer.

Sergeant Nancy Spadoni: Experience includes work as a patrol officer, trainer and sergeant.
