Pet lovers: meet your new best friend this Saturday

Adoptable furry friends, pet products, and behavior tips in one location

Meet your new family member at the Super Pet Adopt-a-thon this Saturday, hosted by King County Animal Care and Control at the Kent shelter location. Over 35 shelter organizations, animal rescue groups, foster organizations and pet related businesses will be at the Kent Shelter from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on July 11 with pets ready to go home with their new families the same day.

In addition to adoptions, the Super Pet Adopt-a-thon will hold an hourly raffle, organized by King County Animal Care and Control volunteers. The raffle includes great prizes and tickets are $2 or 3 for $5. All proceeds will go to King County’s Animal Angel Fund which provides veterinary care for abused, sick, and injured animals at the county shelter or in foster care. There will also be entertainment, Seattle Agility dog demonstrations and food for sale.

This is the fourth annual Super Pet Adopt-a-thon. Last year, 139 pets found their new forever home at this event. “We want to break all records for pets adopted at this event,” said King County Animal Care and Control Interim Manager Nancy McKenney. “If you have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to find a new pet, this is it.”
