Use of King County Parks' property is regulated through the issuance of permits. The type of permit you’ll need depends upon the type of activity you're interested in doing on King County Parks' properties.

For non-recreational uses that require alteration to Parks' property, such as ingress/egress across a Parks' property or utility installations, you’ll need to follow the steps outlined on the Special Use Permit application procedures page.

Welcome Eastside Rail Corridor neighbors! King County has recently acquired portions of the former BNSF railroad corridor between Renton and Woodinville. Those of you who have existing uses on the corridor or wish to ask permission for a new use need to follow the non-recreational uses process outlined above. King County did not acquire the corridor through most of Kirkland and Bellevue, so permit inquiries inside the city limits of Kirkland west of 132nd Place NE should be directed to the City of Kirkland, and corridor inquires between NE 8th Street and Highway 520 should be directed to Sound Transit. For more information on the Eastside Rail Corridor go to

For recreational uses (of all parks except for Marymoor), such as events in indoor facilities, picnic shelters rentals, scheduling ballfields or camping, explore the Rentals section of our website for more details. For events and other activities at Marymoor, please contact the Marymoor Park Office directly.

For commercial activities or concessions, explore the Partnerships for Parks section of our website for more details.
