POOLS

In addition to our world-class Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, King County Parks has two outdoor pools. Our pools offer swimming lessons for all ages, water exercise classes, lap swimming, and time for just splashing around! Our pools are also available to rent for birthday parties or other private events.

Outdoor pools are Vashon and Cottage Lake and are open daily from approximately mid-June through Labor Day.

Employment Opportunities
King County Parks' lifeguards and swim instructors have Red Cross and Northwest Lifeguard Prep Course certifications. If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard for King County Parks, contact our Aquatics office at 206-296-7643 or speak with a pool manager to learn about specific training requirements and pick up an application. Inclement weather and local emergency policy
On school days, if schools in your local district are closed due to poor weather conditions, the King County pool in that area will also be closed. If schools are delayed, the pool will open no earlier than 11:00 AM. Check www.schoolreport.org and local news stations for up-to-date information about school closures. The pools' phone messages will be updated to reflect closures and delayed openings. If you suspect a closure, please call your favorite King County pool before you make the trip!
