The Youth Sport Facilities Grant (YSFG) Program provides matching grant funds to rehabilitate or develop sports fields and facilities serving youth in King County. The program strives to facilitate new athletic opportunities for as many youth in King County as possible. Eligible public sector entities include: school districts, park districts, utility districts, cities, or King County. Non-profit organizations, such as youth sports leagues or community organizations, are also eligible, but must partner with the public entity on whose land the field or facility is or will be located. Only projects located in King County are eligible for funding. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the YSFG Program Manager to discuss your projects prior to submitting the Letter of Intent.
Duthie Hill Park, Phase II
King County Parks is thrilled to continue our partnership with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. Evergreen has been an ideal partner in advocating, designing, and building a mountain bike park that serves many interests and skill levels. With the completion of Phase I May 2010, Evergreen and King County Parks immediately began scoping the next iteration of the project. A $75,000 grant will help enable this partnership to build a jump-line, two pump tracks, an additional two miles of CX trails, new free-ride lines, new signage, and a large shelter. We anticipate that the project will be completed at the end of 2011. King County Parks would like to give special thanks to project manager, Mike Westra, for his dedication to this project.
