MATCHING EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTIONS Many employers offer matching gift programs on behalf of their employees. When your company ‘matches’ your contribution, your donation can be doubled or even tripled depending on your organization’s policy. Please contact your employer’s Human Resources Department to determine if your gift is eligible. STOCK TRANSFER DONATIONS Giving appreciated stock to the Parks Legacy Fund via our 501(c)3 partner, Northwest Parks Foundation, is a smart and easy way to make a contribution to the Parks Legacy Fund. To initiate a transfer, please first notify Northwest Parks Foundation of your gift. Then give the following instructions to your broker: Name: Northwest Parks Foundation DTC Number: 0188 Account Name: Northwest Parks Foundation When Northwest Parks Foundation receives confirmation of your transfer, you will be sent a written acknowledgement letter for your tax records. Your gift may specify a dollar amount, a percentage of an estate, assets such as stocks, bonds and real estate, or tangible personal property such as art or antiques. In lieu of sending flowers, families may request donations be made to the Parks Legacy Fund. The Parks Legacy Fund provides planned giving options to meet your overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives. Sample bequest language is available for donors and their advisors to ensure a bequest is properly designated. Life Insurance Donors can contribute a life insurance policy to the King County Parks Legacy Fund in several ways, such as assigning a paid-up policy to the Legacy Fund as owner or naming us as primary or successor beneficiary. A LEGACY BENCH OR TREE Donating a Legacy Bench or Legacy Tree is a great way to honor a friend or loved one along a King County trail or in a King County park. The Legacy Bench and Tree program enable you to place a tree or bench in the park of your choice. You can make a donation via mail using the donation form or contact Pearson Cummings at pearson.cummings@kingcounty.gov or at 206-263-6230.
DONATE BY PURCHASING CUSTOM PARKS STAMPS AND GREETING CARDS Personalize your gifts and cards and make a positive difference for King County Parks through Zazzle, an online marketplace for buying and selling custom-printed items. King County Parks’ partnership with Zazzle has resulted in a wide range of postage, holiday cards and t-shirts that can be purchased online and feature unique scenes of King County parks and open space areas. Cards can also be customized with your favorite family snapshot. Every time Zazzle items are purchased through the King County Parks store Web site, Zazzle donates 27 percent of the net sales from purchased items back to King County Parks.
