The Legacy Bench and Tree Program is a wonderful way to honor a friend or loved one for the enjoyment of all. We will work with you to select an appropriate location in one of our parks or along one of our regional or backcountry trails, and your bench or tree will be memorialized with a plaque that recognizes you or the loved one you're honoring. The King County Parks Legacy Fund provides planned giving options to meet your overall financial, tax and estate planning objectives. As with all gifts to the King County Parks Legacy Fund, these donations are tax-deductible. Bequests
Individuals or couples who have included the King County Parks Legacy Fund in your wills are encouraged to inform us, so we may acknowledge and honor your generosity. Your gift may specify a dollar amount, a percentage of an estate, assets such as stocks, bonds and real estate, or tangible personal property such as art or antiques. Sample bequest language is available for donors and their advisors to ensure a bequest is properly designated. In addition, in lieu of sending flowers, families may request that donations be made to the King County Parks Legacy Fund in honor of a loved one who has passed. Life Insurance
Donors can contribute a life insurance policy to the King County Parks Legacy Fund in several ways, such as assigning a paid-up policy to the Legacy Fund as owner or naming us as primary or successor beneficiary.
