Notice of boating hazard
Tolt River downstream of SR 203

Logs spanning the Tolt River downstream of SR 203. May 2011

King County has identified a series of spanning logs and a logjam (pictured above) on the Tolt River downstream of the SR 203 bridge, which pose a hazard to recreational boaters.

Boaters should exit the river on the gravel bar on the right (north) side of the river just below the SR 203 bridge. Boaters should not attempt to navigate the spanning logs, and should not put in to the Tolt River anywhere downstream of SR 203.

The logs are located in the section of river where the levee was removed from the north side during summer 2008 and 2009; standing trees fell into the river as the river bank eroded during the winter 2010-2011 floods.
