Form-Based Code project:
MLK demonstration area

This Urban Form-Based Code demonstration area is located west of Renton along Martin Luther King Jr. Way in unincorporated King County.

Part of a larger 'island' of unincorporated Urban Area, the demonstration area extends for 1.5 miles along MLK between the cities of Seattle and Renton.

The focus of the project is the commercial center at South 129th Street and the adjacent industrial and unused properties along MLK. Within the demonstration area is a mix of commercial, industrial, and both single-family and multifamily residential uses. The project area is served by the West Hill Community Council (external link).

An initial draft for a form-based code is now available for review, and an additional meeting will take place to present the new draft code.
