In 2008, King County purchased 54 million dollars worth of environmentally preferable products, saving $837,000 by doing so. County agencies aim to buy products that are cost effective, meet performance requirements and are environmentally preferable. These products can provide various environmental benefits, including resource efficiency, reduced toxicity, durability, and recycled content.
