If you are a cable subscriber in unincorporated King County, the Office of Cable Communications (OCC) can assist in resolving complaints and answering questions regarding your cable service.

OCC was established in 1986 to negotiate, monitor, and enforce the rules set forth in the cable television franchises held by cable TV companies operating in unincorporated King County (outside city limits).

OCC collects a franchise fee of 5% of gross revenues from the cable companies for their use of the county's rights-of-way. $3 million in franchise fees was collected in 2011 and deposited into the county's general or CX Fund.

OCC also assists cable subscribers in resolving complaints and answering questions regarding their cable service. Credits for Loss of Cable Television Service

Credits, to be applied to your next cable bill, are available for those customers who have experienced a loss in cable television service for any period of time. Be sure to include your name, phone number, address and length of outage, when e-mailing.
