The King County Department of Information Technology (KCIT) is the central information technology (IT) organization for the government of King County. The county has established four goals that illustrate the long-term values it has regarding use of technology to serve the public and the county agencies:

KCIT's vision is that all county information and information-based services are cost-effective, easy to access and use by the public, private companies and internal staff through web-based technologies with appropriate security and privacy controls.

KCIT provides strong information technology leadership for King County government by partnering with clients to develop the best information technology solutions and provide quality delivery to King County enterprise level IT services.

KCIT Services

KCIT exists to support the business objectives of King County in an efficient, professional, and responsive manner. Our success is predicated upon our ability to enhance our customer’s success through our services. Services include Applications, IT Training, Voice Services and more.

KCIT Governance & Strategy

The KCIT governance groups advise the County Chief Information Officer in the establishment of countywide policies for information technology planning and management and to provide central oversight for technology investments.
