iMAP is an application that allows you to view King County spatial information (GIS data and images) in a map display. You can customize your map display to show just the information you want to see at the best scale for your chosen purpose. iMAP is your interface to a wealth of geographic information, including property information, natural features, political boundaries, planning information, and much more. |

| Getting started with iMAP |
|
General use:
- Start iMAP with the map set of your choice. Most frequently you will want the Property Information map set, which is opened by default.
- Choose a navigation tool (zoom in, zoom out, pan) from the toolbar to the left of the map. Zoom in will be turned on at first. Drag a box on the map to zoom in to that area.
- Zoom to a city by clicking on the "Zoom to places" button to the left of the map.
- Choose the Property Search button to enter an address, parcel number, condo name or street intersection

- Create a map in PDF in one of three sizes to print or save locally by clicking on the Printer icon from the toolbar to the left of the map.
- Hover your pointer of any tool to find out what it does and how to use it.
- Change to a different map set to see different layers. Look near the bottom of the iMAP window for " -- Select a different map set -- ".

Property Research when you know the address or parcel number:
- Start iMAP.
- Choose the Property Search button to enter an address, parcel number or condo name
- If necessary, choose the correct match from a list of candidates.
- Click on the link for "Property Report" and "District Report" to get tabular reports of information for the selected property.
- Turn layers on or off by adjusting the checkmarks by each layer name to the right of the map.
- Change to a different map set to see different layers. Look near the bottom of the iMAP window for " -- Select a different map set -- ".
Property Research when you don't know the address or parcel number:
- Start iMAP.
- Choose a navigation tool (zoom in, zoom out, pan) from the toolbar to the left of the map. Zoom in will be turned on at first. Drag a box on the map to zoom in to that area.
- Once you have found the property of interest, change to the "Identify" or "Select" tool from the tool bar to the right of the map.
- Select the property by clicking on the map.
- Click on the link for "Property Report" and "District Report" to get tabular reports of information for the selected property.
- Turn layers on or off by adjusting the checkmarks by each layer name to the right of the map.
- Change to a different map set to see different layers. Look near the bottom of the iMAP window for " -- Select a different map set -- ".
