Environmental History The King County Archives holds in its collections records useful to the study of the county's environmental history since 1853: the interactions of King County government and its citizens with the natural world. Records document both the natural environment (topography; landforms; rivers, lakes and streams; natural resources) and the built environment (homes, businesses and farms; transportation routes and systems; utilities, recreational sites). Record types include maps and drawings, photographs, and textual records. Please contact the King County Archives at archives@kingcounty.gov or 206-296-1538 for more information.
