Overview

Over the course of the five-day GIS Academy, students complete an integrated project that uses many of the skills learned throughout the GIS Academy experience. The exercises parallel the various classes in the Academy, and build on information learned in each class.

This half-day workshop is the culmination of that project. Students will bring together all the pieces of the course-spanning project to create map layout of their own design.

Audience

This course is a part of the GIS Academy.

Goals

  • Students will synthesize the results of the ongoing GIS Academy project into a map layout.

Topics Covered

  • Informal guidance on map layout and cartographic techniques will provided on a one-on-one basis.

Prerequisites and Recommendations

Students should be familiar with basic GIS theory, and the general functionality of ArcCatalog and ArcMap.
