The KCGIS Center offers a tailored selection of learning opportunities, with Esri-authorized classes, a growing catalog of custom GIS Training Express classes, and frequent free brownbag workshops. Learn hands-on from experienced and highly effective instructors in our convenient state-of-the-art Seattle training facility. We can even bring our training to your work site.
Introductory Esri classes are taught by our two experienced Esri-authorized instructors, Cheryl Wilder and Mary Ullrich. Cheryl is the KCGIS Center Training Coordinator. Both Cheryl and Mary are working GIS analysts and CompTIA Certified Technical Trainers (CTT+).
Our custom GIS Training Express classes are designed and taught by senior KCGIS analysts, subject matter experts with years of real-world GIS experience.
Frequent free workshops can help anyone access and master KCGIS resources, such as iMAP, census data, and property information.
URISA-certified workshops are developed, reviewed, and maintained by subject-matter experts and provide vendor-independent education for GIS professionals and users. Classes are taught by URISA-certified instructors.

KCGIS Training Program Qualifications and Partners
The King County GIS Center offers Esri classes taught by our own Esri-authorized instructors, and we host advanced Esri training in our Seattle training facility.
The King County GIS Center provides GIS training for State of Washington and other federal, local and tribal government employees via a partnership with the Washington State Department of Personnel.
The KCGIS Center's Esri-authorized instructors, Cheryl Wilder and Mary Ullrich, are also CompTIA Certified Technical Trainers (CTT+). CompTIA certification is recognized worldwide as a trusted indicator of qualified and competent professionals in the IT industry.
Veterans' GI Bill Benefits Selected programs of study at the King County GIS Center are approved by the Washington state Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board's State Approving Agency (WTECB/SAA) for enrollment of veterans and eligible beneficiaries under Title 38 and Title 10, USC.
The King County GIS Center partners with GeoMobile Innovations of Corvallis, Oregon to provide hands-on ArcPad training in our Seattle training facility.
Esri classes, URISA workshops, KCGIS Center custom classes, and other training partner classes may be eligible for educational achievement points awarded by the GIS Certification Institute. See our training catalog class pages for the number of points that can be earned for each individual class.
The King County GIS Center partners with Terra GIS of Seattle, Washington to provide training in Open Source GIS software, such as gvSIG desktop GIS, in our Seattle training facility.
The King County GIS Center partners with GeoSpatial Training Services of San Antonio, Texas to provide training in GIS programming in our Seattle training facility.
