TNET Frequently Asked Questions
The most commonly asked questions are answered here. If your question remains unanswered, please contact us.
Are there different levels of participation? There are two levels of participation: two-way read/write participation, which includes data maintenance by the “data owners;” and one-way read-only participation, which constitutes essentially a data sharing level. Naturally we hope one-way agencies would assist with “discovery,” keeping the TNET Consortium updated on any needed data modifications which they “discover,” so that King County IT GIS can perform timely maintenance on the affected portions of the dataset. How accurate is the geography?Global: ±10 feet relative to true geography. Conformal: ±5 feet relative to true shape. What modes are available?Vehicular car and vehicular truck, rail, ferry, bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian. Do TNET Consortium agencies have to change their workflows to maintain the transportation network? The TNET program is specifically designed to minimize the impact on workflows of participating agencies. Agency data maintainers who are already familiar with the ArcGIS environment quickly become fluent in the use of the custom attribute maintenance application. What rules do data maintainers have to follow? The custom attribute maintenance application was designed to give data maintainers the greatest freedom and minimum restrictions. Coded value domains or valid values for attributes have been incorporated, and the program team has also developed a suite of “best practices” that consortium participants will be asked to follow. Please see the Consortium Guide Book and Best Practices to review and comment. Whom do I contact if I have problems with the editing application or the data? The TNET program team serves as program coordinator and offers free installation assistance, training and ongoing technical support after the system is deployed at a participating agency’s worksite. Feel free to contact us for further information. How do I find out more about TNET?Please contact us. How does my agency join the TNET Consortium? The TNET program team is looking forward to hearing from you. Please contact us. |
