Court operations at the Youth Services Center (YSC) at 12th and Alder in Seattle are suspended for Friday as staff work to repair a broken 6-inch water main outside of the Alder Building. Aging exterior infrastructure leading up to the facility is suspected as the cause of the broken pipe.
Water service to the Alder Building has been temporarily disabled to allow crews to make repairs. A contractor is on site, and the location of the leak has been identified. The contractor will work with county staff to ensure court services at the YSC are able to resume as quickly as possible.
The water outage does not affect the youth detention facility, also known as the Spruce Building, which operates from a separate water line.
