Unincorporated area residents meet with King County Executive Dow Constantine
Annual forum brings together residents, county to discuss priorities King County Executive Dow Constantine joined the Greater Maple Valley Area Council in welcoming more than 120 residents and county staff to the joint annual forum held on Monday, July 25, 2010 at the Hobart Community Church in Maple Valley. The annual meeting brings leaders from the six recognized King County Unincorporated Area Councils (UACs) and local area residents together with the County Executive, King County department directors and other key county staff to discuss regional, rural and local issues facing the county and the unincorporated area communities. 
County Executive Dow Constantine shares his priorities for county government with attendees at the 2010 Joint Annual Forum County Executive Constantine spoke of his priorities for reforming county government, including improving customer service; building meaningful partnerships with state and local governments, county employees and the county's residents to find regional solutions to regional problems; and achieving greater fiscal accountability for county government. He pointed to the new King County Strategic Plan as providing the framework and foundation for that change. Brief presentations were offered by representatives of the six UACs: Four Creeks UAC, North Highline UAC, Upper Bear Creek Community Council, Vashon-Maury Island Community Council, West Hill Community Council and the co-host of this year’s forum, the Greater Maple Valley Area Council. The presenters spoke about the issues of greatest concern to each community and provided highlights of accomplishments over the past year. The meeting concluded with questions and answers from the audience. The 2010 Joint Annual Forum was taped for rebroadcast by King County Television.
