Executive hosts Unincorporated Area Councils Annual ForumMore than 100 county residents joined King County Executive Ron Sims at the Joint Annual Forum of the Unincorporated Area Councils (UACs) held on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008 at the Avondale Bible Church Hall in the unincorporated area of King County outside Woodinville. The 2008 forum was co-hosted by the Upper Bear Creek Community Council, and facilitated by council vice-chair Nancy Stafford. "I look forward to the annual forum every year for the opportunity to hear directly from council members and residents on the issues of greatest concerns to our county's unincorporated areas," said Executive Sims. "The councils play a very important role in helping to improve communication between the county and its unincorporated areas, and King County is very grateful to the members for their service to the community." The purpose of the Executive's annual forum is to share information between the council members and residents of the unincorporated areas and the Executive and his cabinet. Each of the six county-recognized UACs offered brief presentations, followed by an hour of questions and answers with the audience. Also attending this years' forum and responding to questions from the community were King County Sheriff Sue Rahr and 45th District state representatives Larry Springer and Roger Goodman.
