DCHS Business Plan Performance MeasuresThe Business Plan is the strategic plan for the Department of Community and Human Services, providing details on the policy direction, mission, goals and priorities for the year, as well as the key objectives and strategies for achieving these goals. The Business Plan includes and describes Performance Measures that have been established to record and report on the department's progress. Selected key performance measures are included in the department's KingStat report to the King County Executive and the King County AIMs High Web site and reports as well as the DCHS Annual Report. All business plan performance measures are watched closely throughout the year by each of the DCHS divisions. Quarterly status reports - called dashboards - are reviewed by the divisions with the department director. These quarterly reports provide a mechanism for gauging the progress, status and performance of division programs in achieving department strategies and goals. If business plan targets for performance measures are determined to be at risk, action plans are developed and discussed. Each quarter, the divisions select specific program(s) to feature on their dashboard report; in addition internal division measures, forecasted events that will influence key programs, and other items of note are presented.
