Benefits of the ABT Program
The ABT Program’s tagline: “Better Information for Better Government” captures what was accomplished with this program. This was a complex program and took five years with the planning stages and implementation phases. The changes were broad as it affected most county employees and our customers.
Benefits
The ABT Program delivered best practices in county business processes and timely, accurate and useful information. This enhanced the county’s ability to provide essential services to customers and make government operations more efficient by reducing the duplication of work and increasing access to data.
Some of the benefits and operational goals identified in the Vision and Goals Statement for financial, human resources, payroll, benefits and budget business processes included:
- Capturing and providing access to financial, human resources, payroll, benefits and budget information to effectively manage programs.
- Providing the capability to conduct analyses that distinguish between local and countywide revenues and expenditures with the budget, financial, human resources, payroll and benefits business areas.
- Providing agencies, specifically system users and functional managers, with tools and training to enable them to extract the data they require to meet their business needs.
- Making information more readily available to all county agencies, the general public, and the business community.
