King County vaccine distribution update (Week of January 29, 2010)
Public Health distributes all H1N1 vaccine to the health care community in King County. We invited health care providers from across King County to order vaccine for their patients and staff who provide medical care. About 800 providers have received H1N1 vaccine so far, including about 200 pharmacies. As of this week, approximately 874,000 doses of H1N1 vaccine have been received in King County, and approximately 743,000 doses have been administered.
Although the supply of H1N1 vaccine was limited in the fall, vaccine supplies are now plentiful. Anyone six months of age and older in King County is now eligible to receive H1N1 vaccine. You don’t need to be in a priority group to get the H1N1 vaccine.
Health care providers who have not ordered vaccine may still do so from Public Health; more information is available at www.kingcounty.gov/healthservices/health/preparedness/pandemicflu/swineflu/providers
Public Health continues to distribute vaccine to health care providers, and is also making vaccine more widely available at pharmacies. Learn more information about H1N1 vaccine availability at pharmacies. Public Health is also offering free H1N1 vaccine clinics to make sure people who cannot afford to pay have an opportunity to get the vaccine. Learn more about these clinics.
