King County Board of Health seeks health professional member
KING COUNTY, WA - The King County Board of Health is currently accepting applications for a vacancy in one health professional position on the Board. The 11-member Board is composed of eight local elected officials -- three from the Metropolitan King County Council, three from the Seattle City Council and two elected officials from suburban cities -- who select three health professional positions. The health professional members serve as citizen public health experts, assisting the Board with complex, often technical, public health issues. The deadline for applying is October 27, 2009. The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
