KING COUNTY, WASHINGTON - The King County Board of Health will hold its next meeting on Friday, May 19, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a joint meeting of the King County Board of Health and the King County Council Law, Justice and Human Services Committee. The meeting will be held at:

Zoonotic Disease Prevention Code (Action Item)
Roman Welyczko, Code Enforcement Coordinator, will review the legal framework and development of the proposed amendments to Title 8 of the King County Board of Health Code for zoonotic disease prevention. Teri Barclay, Senior Health and Environmental Investigator, will summarize the proposed rodent control regulations. The Board will then be asked to adopt the proposed amendments to Title 8 of the King County Board of Health Code. |

Toni Rezab, Project Manager, will provide a briefing of the PHOMP May 4th Steering Committee Meeting. |

Public Health Operational Master Plan (PHOMP) Stakeholder Report
Toni Rezab, Project Manager, PHOMP, and Carrie S. Cihak, County Council Staff, will provide the Board with an overview of the PHOMP Stakeholder Report, highlighting implications and questions for the Board's discussion. This report submitted by Milne & Associates details the Phase I Stakeholder process conducted between November 2005 and March 2006.

Public Health Operational Master Plan (PHOMP) Role Definition
Toni Rezab, Project Manager, PHOMP, and Carrie S. Cihak, County Council Staff, will provide the Board with an overview of the Role Definition White Paper, highlighting implications and questions for the Board's discussion. This report was submitted by Milne & Associates as background for the PHOMP Phase I policy framework.

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
