Marcy Maurer, Assistant Director, Community Health Services Division, Public Health - Seattle & King County, will present, for Board adoption, proposed revisions to Title 3 of the Code of the King County Board of Health on Personal Health Services Fees and Charges.

Briefing: Initiative 901 (Anti-Smoking Initiative)
Tony Gomez, Interim Manager, Prevention Division, Public Health - Seattle & King County; Roger Valdez, Program Manager, Tobacco Prevention Program, Public Health - Seattle & King County, and Roman Welyczko, Enforcement Coordinator, Environmental Health, Public Health - Seattle & King County, will present an overview of the provisions of Initiative 901 (the Anti-smoking Initiative) and initial plans for education and enforcement.

Briefing: Mortality Data for the King County Jail (Seattle and Kent)
Bette Pine, Manager, Jail Health Services, Public Health - Seattle & King County, Dr. Ben Sanders, Jail Medical Director, Jail Health Services, Public Health- Seattle & King County, and Reed Holtgeerts, Director, Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention, will present jail mortality data and protocols for staff response and investigation in case of an inmate death.

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
