Operational Master Plan (Action Item) Kathy Uhlorn, Board of Health Administrator; Toni Rezab, Senior Policy Analyst, King County Office of Management and Budget; Carrie Cihak, Senior Legislative Project Lead, King County Council; and Sarah Hopkins, Project Manager, Public Health; will present a summary of the scope of work of the Public Health Operational Master Plan. The Board will vote on a resolution to adopt the work plan.

Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Resolution (Action Item) Steve Helgerson, MD, MPH, Division Manager, Prevention/ATOD, will present a resolution regarding pandemic influenza preparedness planning for the Board's consideration and adoption.

Briefing: University of Washington Biocontainment Laboratory Theresa Doherty, Assistant Vice President for Regional Affairs, University of Washington Office of Regional Affairs; John Coulter, Executive Director, UW Health Sciences Administration, and Associate Vice President for Medical Affairs; and Karen VanDusen, Director, UW Environmental Health & Safety, will brief the Board on the proposed regional biocontainment laboratory to be built at University of Washington.

Briefing: Environmental Health Unified Hourly Rate Dr. Ngozi Oleru, Manager of Public Health's Environmental Health Division and Eunjoo Greenhouse, Senior Administrator for Environmental Health Division, will brief the Board on a proposal to establish a new Environmental Health Fee Schedule based on a unified division-wide hourly rate. This briefing is preparatory for the Board's vote on the fee proposal in June.

Briefing: Environmental Health Food Code Changes and Fee Proposal Dr. Ngozi Oleru, Manager of Public Health's Environmental Health Division and Eunjoo Greenhouse, Senior Administrator for Environmental Health Division, will brief the Board on the newly adopted state Food code which locals have to adopt in May. This briefing is preparatory for the Board's vote on the fee proposal in June.

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
