Briefing - King County Health Advisory Task Force
Dorothy Teeter, Chief of Health Operations, and Dr. Alvin J. Thompson, member of the Health Advisory Task Force, will brief the Board regarding the Puget Sound Health Alliance: its purpose, status, and strategic/regional planning for the next year.

Briefing - Preparedness for Isolation and Quarantine
Amy Eiden, Project Manager, and Jim Jorgenson, Program Manager, from the Public Health Preparedness Section will update the board about planning for isolation and quarantine, including preparations underway for large-scale voluntary home isolation/quarantine and protocols for involuntary detention. This presentation is intended as background for a code repeal on which the Board will vote in February.

Briefing - Local Hazardous Waste
Ken Armstrong Administrator, Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County, will present "Financial Status of the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program in King County"

Briefing - State Food Code (Action Item)
Ngozi Oleru, Manager of Public Health's Environmental Health Division, will brief the Board on the newly adopted state Food code which locals have to adopt effective May 2nd. The Board will be asked to appoint a subcommittee to put together a local code package for the Board's adoption in March .

The King County Board of Health sets county-wide public health policy, enacts and enforces local public health regulations, and carries out other duties of local boards of health specified in state law. These duties include enforcing state public health statutes, preventing and controlling the spread of infectious disease, abating nuisances, and establishing fee schedules for licenses, permits and other services.
